Il y a plus d'une semaine, la République Populaire de Chine a été durement frappée par un seïsme de 7,8 sur l'échelle de Richter. La Province du Sichuan, dont la capitale est Chengdu a été la plus durement touchée.

Vous trouverez ci-desssous un message, listant les principales ONG chargées de collecter des dons et des vivres pour les sinistrés. Merci de copier ce message et de le transférer à vos carnets d'adresse.

A ce jour, le chiffre officiel est de 71000 morts. Pékin a accepté hier, l'aide d'urgence des Etats-Unis et a decrété 3 jours de deuil national.

An earthquake of 7.8 magnitude struck the Sichuan province at 2:28 pm on 12/05/2008. As of 18/05/2008 (1:00 am), the official death toll is 29,000 and is expected to escalate in coming days.

With transportations and infrastructures at and around the area severely damaged, medical assistance is having difficulties reaching sites most in need of help. The shortage of food, water, and other basic necessities is also a real and tangible threat to those who survived.

There have been talks of food donation, blood donation and the like, but for those of us who are too far away for these options to be viable, the best we can do is donate money. Logistically, it also makes most sense to support the relief cause with monetary donation.

As such, we urge you to chip in to help remedy the many harms already done. Every penny counts! So please, follow your good conscience and donate to any of the legitimate relief groups of your choice. Spread the words among your family and friends so that they, too, could find joy in helping our brothers and sisters in China.
